Jr. High & High School Announcements-

The poetry of senior Lacy Harris and sophomore Alicia Tapia has been published in the book Know Love:  No Means Know.  This writing contest was sponsored by the Idaho Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Project. Students were asked to submit creative writings and poems of healthy relationships and the need to end teen dating abuse.

Poems can be found alphabetically by the author’s last name:  Lacy’s poem entitled “A Lover’s Game” is on page 60 of the book.  Her poem describes an abusive teen relationship.  Alicia’s poem, “Love, Like No Other” is found on page 138 and discusses a teen’s realization that, through comparison with a prior abusive relationship, a girl CAN be in a positive, healthy relationship.

A representative from Lincoln College of Technology will be here Thursday to meet with students interested in automotive or diesel technology. He will be available during seminar in the library.

Students – Progress Reports are going to be sent home this week for any student with a D or F in class. Get your grades up soon.

Students- When you go to lunch, the lunch staff is asking all students to remove their earphones (ipod’s, mp3’s, etc.) once they get to Eileen (or whoever is attending the scanning machine) and they may replace them once they are through the line. Any student who refuses will be sent to the office.

If you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior who would like to get a jumpstart on scholarship applications, see Mrs. Webberley for info on a $1000 scholarship that can be used towards any college, university, or technical school following graduation.

Don’t forget to order your Valentine Goodies from the Sophomore class.  They have stuffed animals and candy for sale, and will deliver them on Friday, Feb. 12th.  Order forms are available in the office, or talk with a Sophomore.  Thanks for your support!

There will be a high school track kick-off meeting in the library on Friday at 9:40. Come if you are at all interested in participating in Spring Track

Notus Ensemble is selling singing valentines for 3-5 dollars starting today. Please support the ensemble and come buy valentines during lunch. We will be selling them until February 10th. If you have questions talk to any ensemble member or Mrs. Harrel.

The class of 2014 is hosting a Jr. High dance on Wednesday February 10th from 6:00-7:30 in the hub. Only Notus Jr. High students and their parents are invited to attend. Cost for the dance is $2 per student. This is not a “date” dance. Come with your friends and have fun. Please see Mrs. Ireland if you have any questions.
