Jr. High & High School Announcements-

- Tip-off is this week. Coronation will be on Thursday between the JV and Varsity game. The dance will be on Friday between 8-11. The cost is $3 for single and $5 for couple. This is a Sadie Hawkins type dance, so couples should dress alike. See the office for out of district passes. All out of district passes are due back to the office for approval by January 20th, Wednesday, at 3:30 p.m.

If you ordered and paid for a yearbook, please come to the office and make sure your name is on the list!

There will be a 7th grade class meeting Tuesday January 19th in the library after announcements.

There will be free pizza for all 17 & 18 year old students in the IDLA room on Tues. Jan. 19th., who will come and get the low down on the benefits of becoming a blood donor for the Red Cross.  A Red Cross Representative will be there to explain the process and answer any questions you might have.  This is an excellent easy way to give community service, not only locally, but world wide (think of the recent devastation in Haiti).  Come and be part of something good for you, and good for someone else.

Deputy Chad Harrold and Deputy Jay Warren will be presenting defensive driving classes called Alive At 25 throughout 2010. The next class is scheduled to be held on February 13th from 9:00-1:30 at the Middleton Fire Station conference room. This classroom course is for any Idaho resident between the ages of 15 to 24, licensed or not. Please spread the word to anyone you know that falls into this age group.

Each class will be approximately 20-25 people and registration is completed through our State's Alive At 25 website located at idsafedriver.org

We will be trying to schedule a class each month throughout 2010. If our date doesn't work for your referral, Nampa City Police will also have dates scheduled located at the same website. The class is presented in a casual, relaxed atmosphere and student interaction is highly encouraged. Also, you may want to check with your insurance company for a possible young driver discount..?

If you have questions, see Officer Warren.

Game times for the game on Saturday vs. St. Ambrose are 4:30 for JV girls, 6:00 for Varsity girls, 7:30 for Varsity Boys. The school and gym are located at 6100 North Locus Grove in Meridian. If you take Hwy 20-26 and go past Meridian Rd, and turn Right on Locus Grove you will find the school. If you went as far as Eagle road you went too far. They do not have a JV boy’s team.

-All Princesses, queen and king candidates your bios are due to Ms. Hatfield by Wednesday afternoon. Your bios need to be less than 20 seconds long.

Wednesday during seminar the tip-off court will be practicing for coronation. This includes princesses, queen and king candidates and escorts.

Staff Announcements-

- Teachers and Staff,

A new school board policy #4600 Volunteer Assistance now requires all volunteers complete an application packet, sign a confidentiality agreement, and in some cases be fingerprinted. As always volunteer coaching applicants also must be approved by the School Board. This all must be accomplished prior to the volunteer serving. If you have or intend to have a volunteer serve in any capacity, including a chaperone for a field trip, parent assistant in your class, etc… please come and get a packet from me detailing the new requirements. Again, these must be completed prior to the volunteer serving in any capacity.

-If you host a lunch meeting, please be sure to contact the lunch department and let them know early, at least one full day, to prevent over preparation of food.
